13 clusters in and around Rawatgaon (Pauri , Uttarakhand ) with 250+ households and 3000+ population either employed with Government or engaged in Fruit and Vegetable production or animal breeding. Life in mountains is not easy due to difficult terrains and harsh weather conditions for most part of the year. It makes commutation & daily task difficult thus leading people to move out and settle in plains.

Major challenges faced by villagers:

1. Lack of Physical and Social Infrastructure:

• Lack of proper roads and transportation facilities leading to multiple issues in day to day lives of villager's ex commutation for daily tasks, Transportation of farm produce etc.
• Lack of proper medical and education facilities.

2. Youth migration in large numbers for better opportunities outside village and state at large.
3. Local rural communities often have limited access to government schemes and are left out of the development process.

Proposed Village Empowerment Center will act as one stop solution by working as a Catalyst between Villagers and outside world (including government) and social enterprise Incubator thus targeting improved Personal, Social and Economic empowerment.
