Celebrating Spirit of Independence | Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
4th Edition of “Run Bhula! Run Bhuli” was organised on 15th August, 2023 in Rural Pauri (Uttarakhand) by Tryambak Foundation. The celebrations were held with great zeal and enthusiasm with children, youth and elderly participating in runs and events tailored to different age categories. Over 300 Villagers/school kids took part in the event that started with a marathon run for boys and girls.
A Run Flagged Off by Generations of Heroes
The marathon run for boys and girls of the neighbouring villages was flagged off by Col.Ritesh Katoch,SM who is a third generation army officer and his father Lt. Col. R C Katoch who is a 1971 War Veteran, both from Dogra Regiment of the Indian Army. The presence of such war heroes instilled Josh in the young blood participating in the run and they were seen running with an extra edge.
Echoes of Patriotism: Uniting Hearts on the 77th Independence Day
The National Flag was unfurled at 0930h in presence of all the villagers, ex-servicemen of the area and school kids from Aadarsh Model School, Pauri. The villagers were seen singing the National Anthem with Pride and slogans of national unity, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Matram” echoed in the valley marking the spirt of the 77th Independenceday and came in as a reminder of supreme sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and soldiers who continue to motivate us till date.
Core Strength: Tug-of-War Battle
The flag hoisting was followed by women folk of the villages engaging in an intense Tug-of-War event wherein 5 teams of different villages displayed the indomitable spirt and strength of hardworking ladies from the remote hills of Uttarakhand. The Young girls who had earlier participated in the marathon, also volunteered to show their grit and determination in the event and their Josh was absolutely inspirational!!
Celebrating Culture and Patriotism: A Spectacle of Young Talent
Post the Tug of war event, kids from Aadarsh School displayed their amazing talent and love for the country by performing various dances, songs and speeches on the stage which were thoroughly enjoyed by the village crowd. In spite of adverse weather condition, the kids performed with a lot of enthusiasm and passion for the Country.
Ageless Spirit Soars: Senior Citizens Ignite the Independence Run
The Highlight of the Event was a 100m run organised for senior citizens (women/men) who were seen participating with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Whole village cheered at the top of their voices seeing the vigour and passion of the elderly, many of who were born in the independence year of 1947.

Kids under 12 years of age participated in Art Competition, the theme of which was ‘Independence and Villages’
Village Visions Crafted: Empowering Young Artisans through Handicrafts
The Event also witnessed presence of local children who were engaged in Business of handicrafts and had setup stalls to showcase their talent and sold handcrafted Rakhi's and jewellery to the people who had come from nearby villages. Their work was appreciated by one and all and the kids were extremely happy with the kind of exposure they got for their work.
Patriotism, Unity, and Sportsmanship: A Resounding Celebration in Rural Uttarakhand
The Event was concluded by vote of thanks for all the villagers who came together to organise and participated in the event which was aimed at inculcating patriotism for the Nation and focusing on the importance of sports in rural Uttarakhand. Prizes were distributed to all the participants and certificates given along with cash prizes.
